Canadian Rockies 2004
This is a magnificent part of the world everyone should get a chance to
visit. It's right up there with Arizona on my list of favourites.
British Columbians have reason to be proud and there is still plenty
left for me to explore over there.
Tadoussac 2004
Part of my 30th birthday present was a whale watching trip which we
took in early September with a couple of friends. Our timing was
impeccable, the whales were out in force and I even got to see a Beluga
off in the distance.
Halloween 2004 My first experience of a true North American Halloween and we really got into the spirit of things.
Laurentides - Autumn 2004
Autumn is beautiful in Quebec but it doesn't last very long, so you've
got to be lucky to catch it. We headed out to the Laurentian mountains
(Laurentides) and into Mont Tremblant national park in late October and
caught the last glimpses of golden leaves. We were extremely lucky
because a lot of rain had been predicted for that day, so people stayed
away and the park was deserted. The rain didn't come till much later.
First days of winter 2004 The first snow storm in early December.
Glissades Mont Royal 2004
Over the winter months, Beaver Lake (Lac des Castors) on Mount Royal is
transformed into a wonderland of slippery slopes complete with
ice-skating rink. The boys had a go on the slopes, I wasn't game.
Mont Tremblant NYD 2005 You saw it in autumn in the Laurentides album, now you get to see it in winter.
Sugar Shack 2005
Find out how maple syrup is made and make a day of busting your
arteries and overloading your liver. You can't miss this true Canadian
experience!... well ok, it's been somewhat commercialised in the
interest of tourism, but it's still worth a detour! This one is in
Quebec, about an hour north of Montreal.
Best of Canada The photos I feel sum up my time in Canada. Enough said.
